Standard and highly complex PCD special
tools
Guhring’s PCD tool range includes drills,
milling cutters and reamers, as well as tools
with interchangeable inserts. Additionally,
Guhring develops, designs and produces
customer specific special tools for highly
complex machining tasks. Some examples
are PCD-tipped finishing reamers for the
machining of valve seats in the automotive
industry, or combination tools enabling
different machining operations with one
single tool.
PCD and diamond coated carbide end mills
and routers are well suited for machining
abrasive materials that are common
in the aerospace industry. Carbon fiber
reinforced polymers (CFRP composites)
are lightweight and high strength materials
but their woven fibers and multi-layer
construction are challenging for traditional
cutting materials. The Diamond-Tech line
of milling cutters offers a solution for
these specialized applications. Guhring
also designs and builds application specific
cutters for CFRP and other composite
materials.
